THROUGH PROJECTION
Project by: Kiley Russell, Zarah Durst, and Anekava Tulua
THROUGH PROJECTION, THE GARDEN COMMENTS ON THE DESTRUCTION OF THE TUSCAN LANDSCAPE AS A RESPONSE TO THE BONIFICA. THE GARDEN USES IMAGE PROJECTION TO REFLECT ON PAST, PRESENT, AND FUTURE LANDSCAPES.
THIS LAND IS MAN-MADE, AS WE ARE UNABLE TO RECOVER LOST ECOLOGY.
THE PROJECT USES 4 TYPES OF IMAGE PROJECTION: "STICKER IMAGE", LIGHT PROJECTION, MIRRORING/ REFLECTING, AND PHYSICAL IMPLEMENTATION.
IMAGES ARE EDITED PRIOR TO PROJECTION IN RELATION TO THEIR DEPICTION OF PAST, PRESENT, AND FUTURE.
THE PAST ADDRESSES PROJECTION IN BLACK AND WHITE AND SEPIA-TONES. PRESENT IS REPRESENTED BY PHYSICAL VEGETATION, AND FUTURE IMAGES DEPICT ENDANGERED SPECIES IN INVERTED AND SATURATED TONES.

THROUGHOUT THE PROJECT, ARCHITECTURAL FORM AND IMAGE PROJECTION STUDIES ARE DEVELOPED IN PARALLEL.
EXERCISE TWO IS THE GENESIS FOR THE ARCHITECTURAL FORM, DERIVED BY IMAGE PROJECTION THROUGH SCANNING AND TEXTURE IMPOSITION OF A REGULAR GRID.
THE JUXTAPOSITION OF THESE TWO ELEMENTS CREATES THE BASIS FOR THE ARCHITECTURAL MOMENTS THAT SUPERIMPOSED ONTO THE SITE.
THE FINAL GARDEN PROPOSAL USES THE FORMAL LANGUAGE AS A MEANS TO PROJECT IMAGES.
THE IMAGE PROJECTIONS ARE THE ARCHITECTURE.
THE PROPOSAL IS A CONGLOMERATE OF VARIOUS ARCHITECTURAL MOMENTS THAT DISPLAY EACH OF THE 4 TYPES OF IMAGE PROJECTION. THIS GARDEN BECOMES A SPECTACLE OF LANDSCAPE, AS WELL AS A SPACE TO REFLECT ON THE NATURE OF THE IMAGES THROUGHOUT THE SITE.
